Paterson man gets 25-year prison sentence for molesting 9-year-old girl while babysitting

A city man has been sentenced to 25 years in state prison for molesting a 9-year old girl he was babysitting.
Elias Cano, 24-year-old, was given the sentence by New Jersey Superior Court judge Sohail Mohammed on Wednesday.
Cano was arrested on August 10, 2018 for sexually assaulting the child.
Cano was convicted on first-degree aggravated sexual assault, second-degree sexual assault, and endangering the welfare of a child on October 31, 2019.
After release from prison, Cano has to register as a sex offender, authorities said.
