Three men arrested in Paterson shooting on East 23rd Street

Three men have been arrested for their alleged role in a shooting on East 23rd Street, according to the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office.

Christian Patterson, 29, of Paterson; Delshawn Wright, 22, of East Orange; and Keyshawn Wright, 20, of East Orange, were arrested for their role in the August 9 shooting on East 23rd Street and Park Avenue in Paterson.

Patterson has been charged with first-degree attempted murder, unlawful possession of a weapon, second-degree aggravated assault, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, unlawful possession of a weapon, and certain persons not to have firearms.

Delshawn Wright is charged with first-degree attempted murder, second-degree aggravated assault, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and certain persons not to have firearms.

Keyshawn Wright has been charged with first-degree attempted murder, second-degree aggravated assault, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and unlawful possession of a weapon.

Patterson allegedly shot the 22-year-old Newark man three times at around 12:30 a.m. on August 9.

The Wright brothers allegedly acted as accomplices during the incident. Both were captured on East 23rd and Park Avenue at around 6:30 p.m. on August 18. Patterson was arrested outside 120 Auburn Street at around 8 a.m. on August 20, authorities said.

All three men face lengthy prison sentences if convicted on the charges. All three are being held at the Passaic County Jail pending court hearings.
