Paterson councilman Luis Velez tests negative for Covid-19 after possible exposure

Councilman Luis Velez was relived on Tuesday morning after getting his Covid-19 test results from St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center.
Velez said he tested negative for Covid-19. He had a brief interaction with assistant public works director Manny Ojeda last week.
Ojeda tested positive for Covid-19 on Sunday, forcing more than a dozen municipal employees to quarantine.
Officials said Ojeda is recovering at home.
Velez submitted to a test on Monday morning. He said he received his results on Tuesday morning.
