Paterson police arrest two on drug charges in separate undercover operations

The police arrested two alleged drug dealers in separate undercover operations on Friday, according to public safety director Jerry Speziale.

Erick R. Rodriguez, 30, of Paterson, and Jocquice R. Timmons, 26, of Paterson, were charged with five drug offenses each.

Timmons was additionally charged with resisting arrest.

Police conducted the first undercover operation at Madison and Essex streets at around 11:30 a.m. A detective bought 20 glassine envelopes of heroin from Rodriguez at the corner of Madison and Essex streets. Rodriguez was arrested by a team of police officers without an incident. He had the 20 bags of heroin and 1 jar of marijuana. He also had $306 in suspected drug proceeds.

Police conducted the second undercover operation at 324 East 23rd Street at around 1:10 p.m. A detective approached Timmons and negotiated a heroin buy. On seeing police officers moving in to arrest him, Timmons ran on foot. He was chased and arrested in the corner of 7th Avenue and East 22nd Street. Timmons allegedly had 70 glassine envelopes of heroin, 6 baggies of marijuana, and 1 Percocet pill. Police seized $202 cash from him.
