An alleged member of the 230 Boys street gang has been sentenced to more than five years in federal prison.

Keith Brinkley, known on the street as “K Murder,” 30, of Paterson, was sentenced to 63 months in prison last Thursday. He previously pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute and possess with the intent to distribute fentanyl and knowingly and intentionally distributing fentanyl.

Brinkley and other gang members conspired to distribute heroin and fentanyl from September 2018 through October 2019. Authorities pieced together the gang’s activities by conducting controlled buys of drugs, recording phone calls, text messages, conducting surveillance, and analyzing phone call records.

230 Boys operate out of the area around Rosa Parks Boulevard and Godwin Avenue. State and federal authorities have hit the gang hard over the past almost two years.
