Paterson police arrest 14, seize 900 bags of heroin, $5,800 cash in Carroll Street bust

The police arrested 14 people and seized 923 glassine envelopes of heroin in a drug bust on Carroll Street on Friday, according to public safety director Jerry Speziale.

Derrick Bell, 18; Giovanni Dunham, 21; Anthony S. Herrid, 37; Hashim Scott, 21; James M. Barber, 28; Quasheen L. Gaskins, 25; Joseph J. Nunnally, 38; David Alfaro, 34; Omar Padilla, 39; Michael Robinson, 62, all of Paterson, were charged with drug offenses. Police also arrested James E. Porch, 36, of Bayonne; James A. Nelson, 51, of Nanuet, NY; Erica L. Ricciardi, 39, of Congers, NY; Levan Nikogosov, 29, of Cliffside Park.

Bell, Dunham, Herrid, and Scott were each charged with numerous drug possession and distribution offenses. They were also charged with burglary and maintaining a drug production facility.

Porch, Barber, Gaskins, Nunnally, Nelson, Ricciardi, and Nikogosov were each charged with drug possession.

Alfaro and Padilla were charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. Padilla was additionally charged with resisting arrest.

Robinson was charged with loitering to commit a drug offense.

Police raided 43 Carroll Street after receiving complaints about drug dealing in the area. They seized 923 glassine envelopes of heroin, 73 vials of crack cocaine, and $5,827 cash. Police also seized equipment used to package drugs such as scale, grinder, and packaging material.
