Passaic County has partnered with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and St. Joseph’s University Medical Center to roll out an initiative to vaccinate residents in undeserved parts of Paterson, Passaic City, and Prospect Park.
Under the pilot program, residents living in certain zip codes that are considered “under vaccinated” in the three cities will be able to call a phone number and register to get their shots.
“We are focused on under vaccinated parts of our county, and we’re prioritizing bringing extra resources to those areas, so that all of our residents have equal access to protect themselves against this life-threatening disease,” Passaic County commissioner director Pat Lepore said.
St. Joseph’s University Medical Center received 4,680 vaccines this week. 25 percent or 1,170 doses will be allocated to vaccinate vulnerable and under vaccinated populations within the county, officials said.
Residents in the following zip codes are eligible for the program:
Paterson: 07501, 07502, 07503, 07504, 07505, 07513, 07514, 07522, and 07524
Prospect Park: 07508, 07538
Passaic City: 07055
