Paterson police arrest 15, seize 1,000 bags of heroin, $8,000 cash in Godwin Avenue bust

The police arrested 15 people and seized 1,051 glassine envelopes heroin during a two-phase drug bust on Godwin Avenue, according to public safety director Jerry Speziale.

Nascir Robertson, 21, of Paterson; 17-year-old Paterson boy; 16-year-old Paterson boy; Trayvon Sparks, 30, of Paterson; George M. Love, 40, of Paterson; Jenna R. Campbell, 27, of Paterson; Iania Larzar, 45, of Clifton; Erica Duran, 35, of Clifton; Erin R. Remmert, 34, of Oak Ridge; Anthony Demarco, 25, of Paterson; Joseph R. Abruzese, 33, of Garner, NC; Brianna Ecehm, 23, of Garner, NC; Moataz M. Sheira, 37, of Lake Hiawatha; Kevin E. Manneback, 35, of Wayne; and Jacqueline Vazquez, 54, of Paterson, were arrested on various drug offenses.

Police began investigating drug dealing on Godwin Avenue and Auburn Street at around 10 a.m. on Monday. They arrested 11 buyers and 3 dealers. Two of the three drug dealers were teens, police said.

Police then obtained a warrant to search 146 Hamilton Avenue, apartment 301, and a vehicle that was involved in drug activity. At around 7:45 p.m., police raided the apartment and conducted a search of the vehicle on Rosa Parks Boulevard and Hamilton Avenue.

Sparks was driving the vehicle. Police seized heroin and crack cocaine from the vehicle. Police seized more crack cocaine, drug paraphernalia suggesting the apartment was being used as a drug production facility, and an American Tactical Firefly .22 caliber handgun from the apartment.

Overall, police seized 1,051 glassine envelopes of heroin, 137 vials and 16 small plastic baggies of crack cocaine, and $8,184 cash.

Police said one suspect remains on the run. Justin M. Dennison remains a fugitive. He is wanted by police.
