4 people wounded in separate Paterson shootings

Three men and one woman were wounded in three separate shootings overnight, according to the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office.

The victims – 20-year-old Paterson man, 22-year-old Wallington man, 18-year-old Paterson man, and 24-year-old Paterson woman – sustained non-fatal gunshot injuries, authorities said.

Police responded to the first shooting at around 6:19 p.m. on East 27th Street and 17th Avenue. Police were advised both 20-year-old and the 22-year-old victims arrived at Saint Joseph’s University Medical Center seeking treatment for gunshot injuries.

Police believe someone in a moving vehicle traveling north on East 28th Street from 18th Avenue to Park Avenue fired on the victims. Police located a crime scene on East 27th Street between Park and 17th avenues.

Police responded to the second shooting at around 9:55 p.m. on East 19th and Cedar streets. Police were advised the 18-year-old was seated in a motor vehicle on Park Avenue and Carroll Street when he was struck by gunfire. He was taken to Saint Joseph’s University Medical Center for treatment.

Police responded to the third shooting at 12:35 a.m. on Hopper and Halpine streets. The 24-year-old victim arrived at the hospital seeking treatment for gunshot injuries.

Authorities said the shooting investigation remain active and ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to call the Paterson Police Ceasefire Unit at 973-321-1342.
