A man charged with weapons and drug offenses in 2019 pleaded guilty on Friday.

Glenn Martin, 27, of Paterson, pleaded guilty to gun and ecstasy possession and resisting arrest. He is getting five years in prison for the handgun possession, four years on the drug possession, and six months on the resisting arrest. All will run concurrently, said Passaic County assistant prosecutor Kerry Salkin during a court hearing on Friday.

Martin will have to serve five years in state prison with 42 months to be served before parole eligibility under the plea deal.

Martin was arrested outside 575 East 23rd Street on October 5, 2019. He admitted to having a handgun when police officers approached him. He had a Taurus 40 caliber handgun on his ankle, he admitted.

On December 20, 2019, Martin was arrested again in possession of ecstasy on 12th Avenue between Madison Avenue and East 19th Street. He claimed the five ecstasy pills in his pocket were in his possession for personal use.

On September 11, 2020, police tried to arrest him on East 23rd Street, but he resisted. He admitted he was trying to prevent officers from arresting him by pulling away.

Martin is scheduled to be sentenced on June 16.
