A member of a violent street gang pleaded guilty on Tuesday to distributing fentanyl, according to acting U.S. Attorney Rachael A. Honig’s office.

Maurice Tisdale, 28, of Paterson, pleaded guilty to knowingly and intentionally distributing fentanyl. He faces a maximum of 20 years in federal prison.

Tisdale is a member and associate of the 230 Boys street gang, a violent street gang that operates around Rosa Parks Boulevard and Godwin Avenue. He was among 17 members of the gang charged in 2019.

Authorities conducted controlled drug purchases, recorded telephone calls and text messages, carried out physical surveillance, and analyzed telephone call details that determined from September 2018 through October 1, 2019 the alleged gang members, including Tisdale, distributed heroin, fentanyl, and cocaine base in and around Paterson.

On June 25, 2019, Tisdale worked with other members and associates to distribute fentanyl to a person.

Tisdale is scheduled to be sentenced on October 6.
