The police arrested three people, an alleged dealer and two buyers, on drug charges during a surveillance operation in South Paterson on Thursday afternoon, according to public safety director Jerry Speziale.

Frankie De Jesus Jr., 25, of Paterson; Christina Misko, 40, of Garfield; Brian Umstead, 51, of Paterson, were arrested in the operation at around 1:30 p.m.

De Jesus was charged with numerous drug offenses. Misko and Umstead were each charged with drug possession.

Detectives observed De Jesus waiting for Misko and Umstead on Main Street and Montclair Avenue. Once they arrived, he allegedly sold them drugs.

De Jesus left the area, but Misko and Umstead lingered nearby. Police arrested Misko and Umstead on Main and Robert streets.

Misko allegedly had 6 glassine envelopes of heroin.

De Jesus returned to Main and Robert streets ten minutes later and was placed under arrest. He allegedly had 87 vials of crack cocaine and 30 packets of heroin.

Detectives then raided De Jesus’s residence at 321 Atlantic Street, apartment 3B, seizing more drugs. Police seized 146 glassines of heroin, 155 vials and 1 baggie of crack cocaine, and drug paraphernalia in the operation.
