Nutley man arrested in Paterson with Glock handgun, cocaine

A man from Nutley has been arrested allegedly in possession of a Glock handgun and cocaine in Paterson, according to public safety director Jerry Speziale.

Orlando Cruz, III, 35-year-old, has been charged with drugs and weapons offenses. Police arrested him on Wednesday at around 11:30 p.m. on Rosa Parks Boulevard and Harrison Street.

Cruz was in a white Jeep Cherokee that allegedly committed a motor vehicle violation at the intersection of Rosa Parks Boulevard and Putnam Street. Detectives got behind the vehicle to conduct a stop.

Police recovered a Glock .45 caliber semi-automatic handgun and 4 baggies of cocaine during the stop.

Cruz was taken to police headquarters for processing. He is being held at the Passaic County Jail.
