Paterson dealers were selling drugs from Governor Street porch

The police dismantled an operation where drug dealers were using the porch of a Governor Street property to sell heroin and crack cocaine.

Detectives arrested Gregory Rodriguez, 48, of Paterson; Colleen Walsh, 37, of Paterson; Maurice Parker, 25, of Hackensack; Justin Clemens, 19, of Paterson; and Derrick Bell, 18, of Paterson.

Police observed three individuals conducting drug sales from the front porch of 200-202 Governor Street. They observed two separate transactions at around 12:30 p.m. on Monday. Detectives followed the buyers out of the area after each drug transaction and arrested them.

Detectives returned to arrest the dealers, but they tried to flee. They arrested Clemens and Bell, but Parker managed to flee.

Parker allegedly had a handgun and tried to discard it while fleeing. Police chased him and placed him under arrest. His Taurus 9 MM handgun loaded with 8 rounds was seized.

Clemens, Bell, and Parker were charged with numerous drug offenses. Parker was additionally charged with weapons offenses.

Rodriguez and Walsh were charged with drug possession.

Police seized 659 glassine envelopes of heroin, 49 vials and 1 knotted bag of crack cocaine, 18 jars of marijuana, and $709 cash.
