Five people shot in Paterson in separate overnight shootings

Five people – one woman and four men — were wounded in separate shootings early Monday morning, according to the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office.

The victims — 20, 22, 31, 43, and 25, all Paterson residents – were struck by gunfire in a violent three-hour span in Paterson.

The first incident unfolded on Park and Madison avenues at around 2:39 a.m. Police were advised two people, a 20-year-old man and a 22-year-old man, arrived at Saint Joseph’s University Medical Center seeking treatment for gunshot injuries. Police determined the victims were in the area of Park and Madison avenues when an unknown suspect began shooting at them.

The second incident occurred on East 23rd Street and 12th Avenue at around 5:44 a.m. Police were notified a 43-year-old man, a 25-year-old woman, and a 31-year-old man, arrived at the hospital seeking treatment for non-fatal gunshot injuries. Police said the three victims were standing East 23rd Street and 12th Avenue when an unknown suspect began shooting at them.
