A city man was killed and another was wounded in a shooting on Main Street on Sunday night, according to the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office.

The victims – 32-year-old Nelson Hilario and 36-year-old Victor Vasquez, both of Paterson – were struck by gunfire at around 8:08 p.m. in the area of Thomas and Main streets.

Police located both victims at the scene and rushed them to St. Joseph’s University Medical Center.

Vasquez died at the hospital.

Hilario sustained a non-fatal gunshot wound.

Detectives located a crime scene outside of 939 Main Street. Authorities said the incident remains under investigation.
