We must be persistent in the 2021-22 school year

I want to write this communique to welcome back our students, teachers and staff. The 2020-21 school year was challenging to say the least. The 2021-22 school year will undoubtedly present its own share of challenges.
I must note that I am writing this letter as a student. On September 7, 2021 I’ll be enter a law studies associate program at Berkeley College. My end goal is to get into law school and works towards achieving my JD.
I have my work cut out for me and so do you. This is why I am writing to you.
I want to encourage you to continue to persevere despite the fact that we are still in the throes of a global pandemic, catastrophic climate change and even potential wars both abroad and domestic.
We all have seen the news and see how unpredictable the world can be. We see constant updates and changes to CDC guidelines, changes to government policies and continued COVID spikes across the country.
It is truly an unprecedented time. Nevertheless, we have persevered through the toughest of times in the past and we can do the same here and now. There is no doubt that 2020 & 2021 will have its place in the history books.
Lastly, I want to reiterate the point of perseverance. This word is defined as: “Persistence in doing something despite difficulty or delay in achieving success.”
We must be persistent in this season of learning and academics. Despite what we face. Let us remember that we won’t lose as long as we never accept defeat. As long as we keep going, we will reach our desired goals.
