A man from Little Rock, Arkansas has been arrested for allegedly dealing drugs in Paterson, New Jersey, according to public safety director Jerry Speziale.

Artavius Howard, 22-year-old, has been charged with numerous weapons and drug offenses.

Police arrested Howard on Wednesday at 195 Governor Street. He was allegedly observed entering 195-197 Governor Street and conducting hand-to-hand drug sales.

Detectives tried to place him under arrest, but he tried to flee on foot. He couldn’t get away and was caught a short distance away. Police seized 60 glassine envelopes of heroin from him.

Detectives returned to 195 Governor Street and met with Howard’s mother. They recovered a Glock 19 pistol and a Glock 42 pistol, high-capacity magazines, and hollow point bullets from the location.

Howard had $680 cash from alleged drug sales.

Howard was processed at police headquarters and later lodged at the Passaic County Jail.
