Member of Paterson drug ring that transported 12,000 bags of heroin to Vermont pleads guilty

A member of a drug ring that tried to transport 12,500 packets of heroin from New Jersey to Vermont pleaded guilty on Wednesday.
Shamir Williams, 26, of Paterson, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute 40 grams or more of fentanyl and 100 grams or more of heroin and distribution of fentanyl in federal court.
Williams worked with two other people — Nysifah Deaveareaux and Caron J. Abrams, according to federal authorities. He is scheduled to be sentenced on February 2, 2022.
