The city is getting $138,796 in federal grant funding for police training and equipment, announced Rep. Bill Pascrell.

Funds from the Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant Program can be used to purchase needed equipment, training, and other resources.

“These past two years have been especially trying for North Jersey’s first responders. Now more than ever they need federal support like this,” said Pascrell, co-chair of the Congressional Law Enforcement Caucus. “For years I fought to protect and expand the Byrne JAG program so local departments like those in Paterson, Passaic, and Clifton could have the lifesaving resources they need.”

Passaic City is getting $48,668 and Clifton is getting $15,705 through the same grant program.
