Paterson woman pleads guilty to drug charges for transporting 12,500 bags of heroin from New Jersey to Vermont

A woman has pleaded guilty for transporting 12,500 bags of heroin from New Jersey to Vermont, according to federal authorities.

Nysifah Deaveareaux, 28, of Paterson, pleaded guilty last Wednesday to conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute 40 grams or more of fentanyl and 100 grams or more of heroin and distribution of 40 grams or more of fentanyl.

Authorities said from May 2020 through August 13, 2020, Deaveareaux worked with two others — Caron J. Abrams and Shamir Williams – in a conspiracy to distribute heroin and fentanyl.

On June 11, 2020, Deaveareaux transported 12,500 glassine envelopes of heroin from New Jersey to Vermont. She distributed the drugs to another person there.

Deaveareaux is scheduled to be sentenced on March 16, 2022.
