Dorothy Hepworth of Pocono Pines, PA, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 9, 2021 at the age of 89.

Dorothy (Dot) was born in East Rutherford, NJ on December 24, 1931 to the late Anthony and Dorothy DePaolo.  She grew up in Elmwood Park, NJ alongside her siblings Betty Gemon and Larry DePaolo.

She is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, Ken Hepworth, and her four children, Sue-Ellen Stephan and her husband Nicholas Stephan, Kenneth Hepworth, Keith and his wife Karen, and Kym Hepworth and her husband Robin Miller.  She is also survived by her four grandchildren, Lindsay, Chris, Ryan, and Nicole.

Dot’s smile and unselfishness as a loving wife will live on with Ken forever. She will also be remembered as a great mom and a grandmother that always placed her family first.  She loved walks along the beach and in the country, and her dog, Cinnamon.

Legacy of Love

A wife, a mother, a grandma too,

This is the legacy we have from you.

You taught us love and how to fight,

You gave us strength, you gave us might.

A stronger person would be hard to find,

And in your heart, you were always kind.

You fought for us all in one way or another,

Not just as a wife not just as a mother.

For all of us you gave your best,

Now the time has come for you to rest.

So go in peace, you’ve earned your sleep,

Your love in our hearts, we’ll eternally keep.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation.
