A surge in Covid-19 cases has prompted the Paterson school district to go all-remote until late January.

School officials had switched students to remote learning at the city’s two largest high schools on Tuesday due to lack of nursing services. Students will be dismissed at 1 p.m. on Thursday, last school day of 2021.

When they return from winter break on January 4, students will be all-remote. Students and staff will be remote until January 18th, officials said.

Covid-19 cases in Paterson has been surging over the past week. Officials reported 245 cases on Wednesday.
