A Newark drug dealer pleaded guilty to conducting a drug sale in downtown Paterson.

Muhammad Al Barr, 50, of Newark, pleaded guilty to drug possession with intent to distribute last Wednesday.

On October 8, 2020, Al Barr was in the Popeyes parking lot on Memorial Drive and Market Street in Paterson. He had 1,250 glassine envelopes of heroin, he admitted in court.

Al Barr’s buyer was Marylin Aponte, 29, of Rahway. She pleaded guilty to wandering to purchase drugs. She does not face any prison time, but has to pay some fines.

Aponte was sentenced on Wednesday.

Al Barr is scheduled to be sentenced on May 19 before judge Scott Rumana.
