Body discovered in basement during Paterson house fire

At approximately 11:48 p.m. on Sunday, firefighters were called to a residential fire at 465 Hamilton Avenue in Paterson, where they discovered the body of a deceased male in the basement while battling the blaze.
The identity of the deceased is pending confirmation as the investigation continues under the supervision of the Medical Examiner’s Office. The cause of the fire remains under investigation, and further details have not been disclosed by authorities.
