Paterson man accused of sexual assault, strangling victim

A man has been arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting and strangling a victim.
Saul Huamani-Rosas, 26, of Paterson, faces serious charges including first-degree aggravated sexual assault, as well as second and third-degree aggravated assault. He is also charged with criminal mischief and harassment.
Huamani-Rosas is accused of allegedly assaulting and strangling a 23-year-old victim in a private residence in Paterson on Sunday. The victim previously had a domestic violence relationship with Huamani-Rosas.
Huamani-Rosas was arrested on Sunday at 2:30 p.m. He is being held at the Bergen County Jail. He could face a lengthy prison sentence if convicted on the charges.
