The Passaic Valley Water Commission (PVWC) has issued a boil water advisory for residents and businesses in South Paterson on Wednesday afternoon following a water main break. The advisory affects the area from Route 19 to East Railway Avenue and from Madison Avenue to Genessee Avenue.
Effective immediately, the advisory will remain in place until further notice.
Residents and businesses are advised to boil water before use. All water intended for drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth, and washing dishes should be brought to a rolling boil for at least one minute and then allowed to cool before use. If boiling is not possible, bottled water should be used as an alternative.
The advisory is a precautionary measure to ensure the health and safety of the community. PVWC crews are actively working to address the issue and restore normal water service.
