A man has been arrested and charged with lewdness following an incident at Garrett Mountain Reservation on the morning of June 22, 2024.
Ruben R. Almeida Pimentel, 52, of Passaic City, was identified as a person of interest after a female victim reported seeing a man masturbating in the driver’s seat of a Dodge Ram pickup truck with the door ajar. Pimentel was arrested on July 2, 2024, based on the recommendation of the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office.
The victim, who was performing stretching exercises at the time, provided a detailed description of the suspect’s vehicle. The incident was initially documented by a sheriff officer assigned to the patrol division, who responded to the scene after meeting with the victim.
Detectives from the PCSO Criminal Investigation Division conducted an investigation, which led to the identification of Pimentel. He has been charged with one count of lewdness, a disorderly persons offense. Pimentel was released pending a first court appearance.
“All residents deserve the right to enjoy our County parks without the threat of witnessing lewd and illegal acts. The PCSO will not tolerate any illegal behavior,” said Passaic County acting sheriff Gary Giardina.
