Paterson man killed in Madison Avenue shooting

A 39-year-old man was fatally shot early Wednesday morning in Paterson.
Police were dispatched to the area of Madison Avenue and 14th Avenue at approximately 1:37 a.m. in response to reports of a possible shooting. Upon arrival, officers discovered the victim, a Paterson resident, lying face down with a gunshot wound.
Despite officers’ attempts to render aid, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities have not yet released the identity of the victim, and no information about potential suspects has been provided. The investigation is ongoing.
