A 31-year-old Paterson man was injured in a shooting late Friday night, police said.

Officers were dispatched to the area of Highland and Sparrow streets around 11:10 p.m. on Friday following reports of gunfire. Upon arrival, police found the man suffering from non-fatal gunshot wounds. He was transported to St. Joseph’s University Medical Center for treatment.

Police located a potential crime scene in the vicinity, and the investigation is ongoing. Authorities have not released further details regarding the incident.
