A woman was arrested Monday after an investigation by the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office Financial Crimes Unit found evidence she allegedly stole a significant amount of funds from her employer.
Leticia Lopez-Fernandez, 32, of Paterson, is charged with one count of second-degree theft. Authorities allege that, in September 2021, Lopez-Fernandez embezzled approximately $139,947.99 through money orders while working at CityRx Pharmacy in Paterson.
According to the prosecutor’s office, Lopez-Fernandez was taken into custody and processed without incident. She is expected to be released on pre-trial monitoring following a court hearing. If convicted, she faces a sentencing exposure of five to 10 years in New Jersey State Prison.
