Paterson police are investigating a shooting that injured a man early Monday.

Authorities said officers were dispatched to Hackensack University Medical Center at approximately 12:15 a.m. after receiving a report of a gunshot victim.

A 27-year-old man from Elmwood Park, N.J., was found suffering from a non-fatal gunshot wound. He had been brought to the hospital by a private vehicle.

Investigators determined the shooting occurred near McLean Boulevard and 18th Avenue in Paterson. A potential crime scene was located in the area.
