Two men injured in separate Paterson shootings

Police are investigating two shootings that left two men injured in separate incidents over consecutive days.

Officers responded at approximately 6:50 p.m. on Sunday to reports of a shooting near Van Blarcom and Sassafras streets, authorities said. A 24-year-old man from Passaic was later found to have arrived at St. Joseph’s University Medical Center by private vehicle for treatment of a nonfatal gunshot wound. Investigators identified a possible crime scene in the area.

In a separate incident, police were dispatched at approximately 4:36 a.m. on Monday to East 36th Street and 20th Avenue for a reported shooting. A 34-year-old man from Paterson was located at the scene with nonfatal gunshot wounds. He was taken to St. Joseph’s University Medical Center for treatment. A potential crime scene was also identified in that area, police said.

Authorities have not disclosed any information about suspects or motives in either case.
