Columbia Bank has opened its first branch in Paterson. The new location at 177 3rd Avenue offers consumer and business banking services, drive-thru access, digital rate displays, and a team of financial professionals.

Mayor Andre Sayegh, City Council members, Columbia Bank President and CEO Thomas J. Kemly, bank executives, and local nonprofit and business leaders attended a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Feb. 20 to celebrate the opening. The branch is currently welcoming visitors and offering a special Certificate of Deposit promotion.

“Columbia Bank has supported the Paterson community for decades through neighboring branches, affordable home loans, and business banking solutions,” Kemly said. “Through our newest location, local residents can feel confident that our nationally recognized customer service and competitive financial solutions are now more convenient than ever.”

Sayegh emphasized the branch’s impact on the local community, stating, “Not only is the new branch creating better access to financial services, lending solutions, and opportunities for savings and credit, we are empowering the residents of Paterson. We aim to continue long-term wealth and stability within our community.”

As part of its community support initiatives, Columbia Bank launched the “Banking for a Cause” program at the new branch. For every new checking or savings account opened, the bank will donate $10 to participating Paterson-based nonprofits chosen by customers. On May 31, the bank will provide additional donations:

  • $1,000 to the nonprofit with the most contributions
  • $500 to the second-highest recipient
  • $100 to each remaining participating organization

Founded in 1927 and headquartered in Fair Lawn, Columbia Bank operates more than 65 branches and multiple regional lending centers, with an asset base of approximately $10.5 billion. The Paterson location is its newest addition, expanding access to banking services in the city.
