Authorities are investigating after a man was found dead in Garrett Mountain Reservation on Friday afternoon.

Officials said authorities responded to the park at approximately 12:50 p.m. on a report of an unresponsive male. When officers arrived, they found the body of Martin Mendoza, a 20-year-old from Paterson.

The cause of death remains under investigation by the Medical Examiner’s Office. Authorities said the matter is an active and ongoing investigation, but no suspects are being sought at this time, and there is no danger to the public.
