A man was arrested early Saturday after allegedly firing several gunshots from a vehicle in Paterson, according to authorities.
Alexander Roller-Huarotte, 26, of Paterson, was charged following an incident observed by a sheriff’s officer on Cianci Street around 3:15 a.m., Passaic County Sheriff Thomas Adamo said.
Sheriff’s Officer Oniel Garcia was stopped at the intersection of Market and Cianci streets when he saw a black BMW I4 stationary in the roadway. The vehicle’s rear passenger then allegedly fired seven shots into the air from inside, Adamo said. With assistance from sheriff’s officers and police, the vehicle was pulled over and its occupants were detained.
During the investigation, officials said Roller-Huarotte was found to be in possession of a Glock 9mm handgun, a high-capacity magazine and a small amount of oxycodone. He was also found to have two outstanding warrants for burglary and possession of a weapon while committing a controlled dangerous substance offense.
He was charged with unlawful possession of firearms, possession of firearms for unlawful purposes, certain persons not to have weapons, and illegal possession of a high-capacity magazine.
Another individual, Henry Deleon, was charged with unlawful possession of four or fewer units of drugs.
