city-hall

A new business administrator will take office in Paterson next month. The city announced Wednesday that Marc Seemon will begin serving in the role on May 5.

Seemon, currently the Deputy County Administrator for Passaic County, has more than a decade of government experience. The 36-year-old Wayneresident previously held administrative roles in Clifton, Waldwick, Leonia and Midland Park. In those roles, he oversaw municipal operations, personnel, budgeting and intergovernmental relations.

“Marc Seemon’s extensive experience in municipal and county government makes him uniquely qualified to take on this vital leadership role,” mayor Andre Sayegh said in a statement. “As Paterson continues to grow, we need a skilled administrator to help us modernize operations, strengthen transparency, and serve our residents more effectively.”

In his current role with the county, Seemon manages public information and Open Public Records Act requests, supports labor negotiations, and works with various boards and commissions across countywide initiatives.

Seemon holds a degree in Political Science and Public Administration from Montclair State University and a Master of Public Administration from Rutgers University, with a focus on budgeting and financial management.

“I’m extremely excited for this opportunity to serve the City of Paterson,” Seemon said in a statement. “It’s a great responsibility and I am honored that Mayor Sayegh has placed his trust in me. I promise to give this city my all and will always keep our residents’ best interests at heart.”

The city cited Seemon’s appointment as part of its broader mission to improve services and strengthen operations as Paterson continues to grow.

Correction: A previous version of this article incorrectly identified Seemon as a 38-year-old Clifton resident. The correct information is that Seemon is a 36-year-old Wayne resident.
