It’s that time of the year: students are returning to high school or some are just starting their freshman year. High school can be tough, but the ranking earned by Paterson high schools is tougher. The highest ranking high school in the Silk City is International High School at no. 238; Rosa Parks High School ranked at no. 254; John F. Kennedy High School ranked at number 290. None of Paterson’s high school ranked remotely close to the top 100.
The ranking released by New Jersey Monthly Magazine only ranked public schools; a full list of all public schools with their ranking can be found here. Highest ranked high school was New Providence High School located in Union Country; the lowest ranked was Linden High School also located in Union County.
Many factors were considered in the rankings including, SAT scores, HSPA scores, and other barometers leading to student success. Advice for Paterson students: flee the city schools and go elsewhere to complete your high school education.
