Paterson man arrested in connection with sexual assault

A man was arrested on Sunday in connection with a sexual assault.

Keshawn Harley, 38, of Paterson, is charged with second-degree sexual assault, third-degree aggravated assault, and the disorderly persons offense of simple assault.

A woman reported that she had been sexually and physically assaulted on Sunday in the area of 10th Avenue and East 26th Street in Paterson.

Following an investigation by the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office, Harley was identified and charged. He was arrested on Sunday at approximately 10 a.m. in the area of Park Avenue and East 22nd Street in Paterson.

The sentencing exposure for second-degree sexual assault in New Jersey is five to 10 years in state prison.
