The city has been awarded 177,868 dollars in grant from the federal government through the Homeland Security Agency to train and equip Paterson firefighters.

Representative Bill Pascrell announced the amount, in what appears to be a way of telling Patersonians, — Mr Pascrell’s main voter bloc — “I work for you, vote for me in 7 weeks.”

Silk City’s firefighters strapped of funds are grateful for the cash.
