A man was crossing the street near Sheridan and Union Avenue when a car suddenly struck him; leaving the man bleeding from his head. His arms and legs were scraped as a result of the impact. Passers-by have said the car was speeding.
The car’s driver, without stopping to help the injured man, drove off, but an employee of a nearby bank managed to write down the vehicle’s license plate number — two other bystanders also wrote down the same information.
The 66-year-old victim was taken to St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center where he was treated and released.
Police have yet to find the person responsible.
