Three police officers who were injured in the line of work have received workers’ compensation, reported a local small-time newspaper. Paul Tafuri, a police officer, received 40,230 dollars; in September 2009, he was hit by a car in McBride Avenue which left him injured.
In June 2012, Juan Lubrani fell as he was chasing a suspect up to a second floor home in Paterson Avenue which left him injured; he received 16,253 dollars.
George Figueroa was inside his patrol car when another vehicle crashed into him at the intersection of Danforth and McBride Avenues which left him injured — it happened on September 2009. He received 15,450 dollars.
All these amounts were approved by the City Council.
