In an effort to bolster State’s recycling efforts, the Christie Administration has awarded grants to major New Jersey cities through the Department of Environmental Protection; among them Paterson received 238,701 dollars — the 3rd biggest amount after Newark and Jersey City, it being the 3rd largest city.

Paterson this year, has recycling and trash bins at almost every major intersections.

The grants are to help “municipalities purchase the best and biggest recycling containers, educate residents and businesses, and support a dedicated recycling staff.”
