Early Monday morning residential garbage was picked up, but that will not be the case on Tuesday: the City will not pick up any garbage left near the curb until Thursday due to the pending storm; street cleaning has been cancelled until Thursday as well, which will make it easier for individuals to move their cars from low lying areas of Paterson to higher grounds without having the vehicles towed or impounded.Street cleaning cancellation allows residents without garage or private parking space to use both sides of the road to park vehicles.
It was announced no parking signs will go up near potential flood zones including: Totowa Avenue, Presidential Boulevard, and Main Street.
For emergency information residents are urged to call Hurricane Sandy emergency hot Line: 973.321.1382; a number for the Department of Public Works (DPW) was also provided: 973-321-1490.
