After Hurricane Sandy battered Atlantic City the New Jersey Education Association, NJEA, has canceled its annual teachers’ convention. As a result of the cancellation Paterson teachers will have to show up for work this week which was set-aside for the convention.

The Paterson Education Association, almost 3,000 strong, has agreed to let its member show for classes during the week that was allotted for the NJEA Convention.

Barbara Keshishian, the president of NJEA, has said the convention will return next year, “stronger than ever.”
