An elderly man walking home at around 5pm was beaten and robbed of his possessions near the corner of Atlantic Street and Bloomfield Avenue, reported a local paper.

The 83-year-old man was walking home, when he was grabbed by the shoulder and tossed against a car, and then beaten to the ground; as he was viciously attacked the elderly man attempted to defend himself using his cane without much success; the thieves left with his wallet and specs.

He was left with bruises in the head and face.

The victim was taken to St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center where he was treated.
