A Paterson man was run over by a freight train early Saturday morning, at around 2am, near the Wagaraw Road overpass in Hawthorne — the train was on its way to the city.

Edward Jefferson, 61-year-old, was reported missing by his family, when they were unable to locate him; later police visited the home with a photo of the man, who the family confirmed was Mr Jefferson.

An autopsy conducted by the medical examiners office, reported the Record, a Woodland Park based newspaper, said the man’s death came as a result of blunt force trauma.
