Grand Street fire house to shut down Friday

fire_hq

The Grand Street fire house is set to shut down this Friday, according to Glenn Brown, the fire chief, through the Record, a Woodland Park based newspaper.

Fire engine No. 7 which runs out of this building that has been serving the city for more than a century will temporary relocate to the fire house on Union Avenue, until the new fire house on McBride Avenue is completed. Once completed Engine 7 will move to McBride Avenue. The reason for the shut down is that the building is so old that it has become unsafe.

McBride Avenue fire house is set to open next year.
