Two groups of men, who were walking down Main Street, decided to involve themselves in a brawl leaving one man, 19-year-old, with a gunshot wound to the ankle.

When Paterson Police responded to the scene they found a man lying lifeless on the sidewalk of Market Street with a gunshot wound; police had the man transported the man to St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center for treatment.

It appears that the brawl began as a sort of play-fight, and then one of the group member pulled out a gun, turning it into something more.

Police are investigating the incident.
