A homeless man, who stayed at the Salvation Army shelter not far from Ellison Street, climbed on to the top of a nearby parking deck, and took his own life.

The man, 25-year-old, of Bergen County, went up to the sixth floor, and jumped.

He landed on the sidewalk and died on impact. Authorities were informed by a passerby who witnessed the man jump from the top of the parking deck.
